History And Facilities
As the oldest established veterinary hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, we take our responsibility to the pets and the families of our community seriously. Our practice started in 1944 with one veterinarian in a rented barn and has grown to include three beautiful hospitals across the upstate.
Our staff is committed to the health and well-being of your pets and is devoted to helping you take the best possible care of your companion animals.
Our three hospitals are linked digitally which allows our veterinarians to access your pet’s complete record from any location. The doctors and staff of Cleveland Park Animal Hospital work together to deliver the best care for your pet in a professional, compassionate manner.
AAHA® Accreditation: The Difference Between Ordinary And Extraordinary
Cleveland Park Animal Hospital is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association. AAHA-Accredited hospitals are Champions For Excellent Care. We have chosen to be evaluated on approximately 900 quality standards that go above and beyond basic state regulations, ranging from patient care and pain management to staff training and advanced diagnostic services. To maintain accredited status, hospitals undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every 3 years. Currently, only 12%-15% of veterinary practices in the US and Canada hold the AAHA Accredited designation.
Cat Friendly Practice®
Cleveland Park Animal Hospital is a designated Cat Friendly Practice. Awarded by the Association of Feline Practitioners, there are certain criteria that have to be met and maintained to qualify for this distinction. The hospital has to have the necessary equipment to diagnose and treat feline patients. We make every effort to create a calming and anxiety free environment for your cat. Cats are sensitive to odors and the use of synthetic pheromone diffusers in the exam room and sprays applied to towels can help create your cat remain calm. We can recommend ways to reduce stress even before you leave home and provide you with information on how you might transport your cat to our hospital. Our team members are trained to handle your cat gently. Physical examinations can be conducted in a manner and location that creates less anxiety for your cat. It is our goal to make your visit less stressful on you as the caregiver, our staff and most importantly your pet.
What To Expect During Your First Visit
When you arrive for your appointment we will make every effort to stay on schedule and respect your valuable time. We do make allowances in our schedule for emergencies, but we will always do our best to get you and your pet seen on time. Please feel free to enjoy a coffee, tea, or water while you wait.
A staff member will escort you and your pet to an exam room to obtain your pet’s pertinent information. If your pet is a cat, we will escort you to our Cat Friendly Exam Room. This room is equipped with special tools to help create the most calm and stress free environment. The doctor will then meet you in the exam room to begin speaking with you and examining your pet.
When the veterinarian has finished examining your pet, answered your questions, and given any vaccines or medications, a customer service representative will then meet you in your exam room to schedule any further appointments and complete the billing process.
Feel free to complete our client registration form and submit to our office prior to your visit. Our staff can then contact the appropriate location for any other medical records that we may need.
